A publication produced and self-published by SM (Molly Cranston, Safiye Gray) for the occasion of an exhibition at LCBA in 2023.
"Days go by, but bring surprises celebrates time-marking, care-taking and collective memory. Beginning with quick paper-cut and monoprint exercises and reflecting on writing by the artist Etel Adan, the prints take four dates chosen for their sentimental significance as a starting point for collaborative image making. This project looks to reframe an honour our relationship to days past and days ahead; and the time consuming, unpredictable nature of print deeply informed our process.
The four letterpress prints and accompanying book were made in residence at LCBA. The prints were made on a Stephenson Blake press with acrylic stencils, and the book was Risograph printed with a foil blocked cover."
