Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of the Earth taken on February 14, 1990, by the Voyager 1 spacecraft. The photo was taken at the request of Carl Sagan, who convinced NASA that the expenses to register the photo they were worth it, even if it had no scientific value. This picture, he argued, will show us "our place in the universe."
