25 October – 21 December 2024

Words in Colour is the first in an occasional exhibition series highlighting material and drawing inspiration from the LCBA library; a unique collection of more than 650 books about books, printing, art, design and related subjects.
On display will be materials related to Words in Colour – a synthetic phonics method of language teaching that uses colour to indicate the phonetic properties of letters. Invented by educator, psychologist, and mathematician Caleb Gattegno in 1962; the system is used to teach the reading and writing of the English language.
