"This essay was written in 2018 during the binding of the Adler & Frankia book Our daily lives have to be a satisfaction in themselves by Selma Miriam and Noel Furie. An earlier version of this essay was published on the CBAA Book Art Theory Blog. It is typeset in Ogg Text, a calligraphic typeface and printed Riso on French paper. As you might expect, this pamphlet is collated, folded, and sewn by hand.

Images are from Mary Van Kleek's Women in the Bookbinding Trade (New York Survey Associates, 1913).

Thinking What We Are Doing is an essay series by Emily Larned. The title is inspired by the writing of Hannah Arendt."
