On Artists and Hopelessness is the second pamphlet by Beth Pickens, published by FCCW, and addresses "how hopelessness manifests in artists and writers, how the difficulty of building a sustainable art career interacts with other circumstances to make one feel hopeless about the world, about the future, and even about their creative practice." The pamphlet offers advice, strategies, and hopefully some reprieve to those experiencing these feelings. All proceeds benefit the Feminist Center for Creative Work.
Self published by Co—Conspirator Press with the support of Feminist Center for Creative Work. Designed by Kate Johnston and MJ Balvanera, Riso-printed by Neko Natalia.
FEMINIST CENTER FOR CREATIVE WORK nurtures an ever-evolving, intersectional, intergenerational, and joyful collaborative feminist praxis*—modeling ways of working and living through art, programming, media, publishing, and the redistribution of resources, from Los Angeles, within the world. The process is the product.
*Praxis: The everyday habits, conventions, and practice of living theoretical concepts.
