WATCH by CaraghThuring is a scaled-down and expanded edition of a book originally produced with the artist on the occasion of her exhibition at Chsenhale Gallery in 2015. As with the original, the book features over 500 print advertisements collected by the artist over a 10 year period.
The first edition of Watch was a photocopied, 500-odd page case bound book, printed onto pink, Financial Times newsprint. The artist prepared the paper for the book herself, taking the end-rolls of the reels of newsprint, painstakingly cut them down by hand into A4 sheets, and photocopying onto them, and was produced in a very limited edition of only ten copies.
This new edition has been photocopied onto a similar-hued paper, with a letterpress and lino printed cover printed from late 19th century wood letter using the Vandercook SP-15 proof press at LCBA.
