Adèle Verlinden paints with a neon, dense and colorful palette. But Adèle also draws with a pen and black ink. Every October, she publishes a daily drawing with black lines, scribbled on a piece of paper, then scanned and posted online.

Through these drawings, Adèle poetically evokes her relationship with animals, their omnipresence in her life and her thoughts, and also asserts an introspective and feminist posture through powerful, well-rounded and determined characters.

Mâchouiller le feu du cosmos (Chewing on the Fire of the Cosmos) takes up some of the drawings published online over the last two years and offers for the first time a new and selected compilation of Adèle Verlinden’s pen work. The formatting of the book was entrusted to Super Terrain.
