A special workshop with Johanna Maierski of Colorama, a project space in Berlin that has been creating and building community through books since 2015. Johanna will be in London for a joint Colorama & Terry Bleu exhibition at the LCBA gallery in May – more on that soon!

The Riso (Ri-sō), or Risograph Duplicator, is a low cost and environmentally friendly printing process that can produce results that are rich in colour and texture and a bit analogue due to its unique mechanics. A printing process particularly suited for fliers, posters, comics and zines.

Learn how to print a Riso-reproduction of your photograph or artwork in the Faux-CMYK technique. You will get an introduction into color-separation, learn basics of riso-printing, halftones, angles and how inks mix together.

Suitable for beginners. Participants are asked to bring along a laptop with Photoshop and an image that they want to separate during the workshop.

On completion of the workshop participants will take home 10 A4 prints and have the opportunity to become Studio Pass holders to work independently, with occasional guidance, on their own projects using the Riso along with other tools and equipment at the LCBA studio.
