The Riso (Ree-so), or Risograph, duplicator is a low cost and environmentally friendly printing process that can produce results that are rich in colour and texture, and look a bit analogue due to its unique mechanics. A printing process particularly suited for fliers, posters, comics and zines.

Esther McManus makes books & comics that explore personal & collective relationships to history, often informed by archival research. She is interested in print's historical role in the production and distribution of knowledge, informed by a background in silkscreen and Risograph printing. 

She is the Practices Tutor for Print Production on the BA Graphic Communication Design course at Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London).
