A slim, elegant patterned box containing 24 sheets of patterned papers designed by mid-twentieth century artist Peggy Angus.

Peggy Angus, artist and educator, was born in Chile but spent most of her childhood in London. At the age of seventeen, she won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art in London. First and foremost a painter, she became best known for her crafts, designing tiles and creating hand-printed wallpaper from carved linoleum blocks. She taught art for many years at the North London Collegiate School for Girls.

The papers are 30 x 41 cm, the perfect size for wrapping books and other small presents, or for craft projects. Each box contains papers in eight designs, and there are three sheets of each in the box — one to use, one to give away, and one to keep, perhaps. The box is an attractive thing in its own right. Once empty, it is ideal for storing scraps of precious paper that may one day be used for some creative endeavour.

The patterns included are: Cats; Oak Leaves; Birds and Grapes; Small Damask; Medallion; Tile; Pineapple, and Dots and Circles. Cambridge Imprint paper is printed in England on FSC paper of archiving quality, using vegetable oil-based inks that are friendly to the environment. Each sheet is printed in one or two hand-mixed inks on uncoated 90 gsm ivory stock to create a high quality matte paper with a hand-printed feel.
